Oberhofer

"What Oberhofer really does is write choruses -- simple sentiments, written simply, expressed with passion and sincerity" - NME

Known for his eccentric and undeniably catchy indie-pop, Oberhofer continues to expand his talents as a songwriter and composer.

Originally from Tacoma, Washington, Oberhofer gained notoriety after studying music composition at NYU and later self-releasing his debut singles in 2010. With a penchant for lo-fi bedroom synth pop, his sound took a step forward when working on his debut album with legendary producer Steve Lillywhite (U2, Rolling Stones, Talking Heads). The album, Time Capsules II, featured fan-favorite songs “oOoO,” “I Could Go,” and “Away Frm U” and led to song placements in commercials for T-Mobile and Expedia as well as a number of TV shows including Vampire Diaries, Broad City and Teen Wolf.

The songs on his sophomore album, Chronovision, were narrowed down from a collection of over 100 demos and led to further critical acclaim. The music from Chronovision continues to be used in high-profile sync placements. Most notably, his song “Sea of Dreams” was the main song featured numerous times in an episode of Netflix’s Bojack Horseman (“Fish Out of Water”) that Variety named as the ‘Best TV Episode of 2016.’

When Oberhofer is not writing or recording music for his artist project, he is also an active composer for films and commercials.  Additionally, he recently made his big screen debut as the wedding singer in the Fox Searchlight film, Table 19 (starring Anna Kendrick and Craig Robinson). Oberhofer also contributed a mixtape of 80s covers that was released as the film’s official soundtrack.
