CHVRCHES ANNOUNCE NORTH AMERICAN DATES + SXSW.

EP OUT THIS MARCH ON GLASSNOTE RECORDS IN NORTH AMERICA

Scottish trio CHVRCHES have just announced their inaugural North American shows this March, hitting San Francisco, Los Angeles, New York City as well as a visit to the SXSW music festival in Austin, TX. The band, who recently were named #5 on the BBC's Sound of 2013, will mark their highly anticipated shows with the release of their debut EP (title TBA) this March as the newest signing to the independent label Glassnote Records in North and South America. Tickets for all shows go on sale this Friday, January 18th.

CHVRCHES are Iain Cook, Martin Doherty and Lauren Mayberry - three distinct individuals bearing three distinct personalities on a consummate whole. Combining indie sensibilities and aesthetics with barbed pop hooks and an unhealthy obsession with Prince, CHVRCHES take elements of classic electronica, rock, hip hop and post-punk, and yet sound like none of the above. Their blend of classic and modern analogue synthesizers, bruised beats and crude vocal sampling comes to the fore in with single "The Mother We Share" as well as  "Lies", their first track that seeped onto the internet in mid-2012.
